Measuring Text Length

Problem

A UI designer wants to know the maximum length of department names to decide on a sidebar width. Find the length of each department_name in the departments table. Output department_name and its length as name_length.

Database Schema

Table: employees

• employee_id (INT): Unique identifier for the employee.
• first_name (VARCHAR): First name of the employee.
• last_name (VARCHAR): Last name of the employee.
• salary (INT): Employee's salary.
• department_id (INT): Foreign key referencing the department.
